“When I graduated as a Sports Studies and Journalism major from Staffordshire University in 2011, I never expected that I would be offered an opportunity as an associate consultant at Robert Walters. When I arrived at the Group the culture really impressed me - I felt valued, respected and supported. After a full year as a consultant in Manchester, I had opportunities to progress further, but I wanted to move abroad so I pursued a role with the Group in Singapore. This decision was a turning point in my career - it enabled me to experience different cultures and growth on an international scale. The business’s commitment to providing international career opportunities is also key to replicating the Group’s culture throughout the world, so that whichever office you work in globally the same cultural DNA is present.

I believe that one of the best things about working for the Group is the career progression opportunities. The Group’s commitment to training and development definitely helped me to achieve promotion to senior consultant within nine months of arriving in Singapore, and my promotion to manager (leading four consultants) shortly thereafter. 

During the global pandemic I was assessing my life and career and this coincided with the Group’s goal to expand internationally by launching a new office in Austin, Texas.

I jumped at the opportunity to start a new business and I opened the Austin office in August 2022. Since then, I have built a diverse team of dedicated consultants who are entrepreneurial in spirit, and collaborative in their approach with our clients and candidates. Currently, we are focused on recruiting technology roles across multiple disciplines including finance, education, construction and IT. We're also exploring new industries such as tourism, leisure, manufacturing, healthcare, life sciences and biotechnology.

The rapid pace of growth of the Austin office is exciting, and one of the most rewarding experiences as a leader is embedding the Group’s culture within the team as we are growing and ensuring that we are geared for sustainable growth. It’s vital that we have a diverse set of minds, backgrounds, and personalities in order to make sure our team is inclusive, open-minded and innovative.  

Our long-term goal is to position ourselves as a dominant player in the market and then to grow into untapped sectors such as change management, asset management and manufacturing.”
