Electrical Project Manager
We are seeking an Electrical Project Manager to join our MEP team and contribute to our success. This role is critical to the successful delivery of complex MEP projects, serving as the primary technical and project point of contact for electrical design while coordinating across disciplines. The Electrical Project Manager ensures projects are delivered efficiently, meet quality and regulatory standards, and reflect our commitment to technical excellence and client satisfaction.
Provides electrical engineering and project leadership for a wide range of projects, performing and guiding engineering analysis, design, plan review, and construction administration activities. This role applies advanced engineering concepts, principles, and practices to deliver technically sound and well coordinated electrical designs while supporting overall MEP project execution. The position operates with limited direction and requires initiative, sound judgment, and resourcefulness in researching precedents, evaluating alternatives, and developing appropriate engineering solutions for new or unusual challenges. Work products are periodically reviewed for technical accuracy, compliance with applicable codes and standards, and effectiveness in meeting project objectives. In addition to hands-on engineering responsibilities, this role provides project-based leadership by coordinating multidisciplinary design efforts, serving as a primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholders, and guiding project teams to achieve scope, schedule, quality, and budget goals. This position does not include direct personnel management responsibilities
Electrical Engineering & Design
• Perform electrical engineering analysis, calculations, and system design for a variety of project types and sizes.
• Develop electrical plans, specifications, and cost estimates in accordance with project requirements, applicable codes, and industry standards.
• Collect, organize, and interpret project-related data to support design decisions.
• Evaluate design alternatives and recommend appropriate engineering solutions
Prepare and review construction documents to ensure technical accuracy and coordination.
• Conduct field observations and construction administration activities to verify compliance with design intent, plans, and specifications.
• Apply and maintain compliance with local, state, and national codes and regulatory requirements.
• Utilize AutoCAD, Revit, and other engineering design and analysis tools to support project delivery. Project Management & Coordination
• Serve as project manager on small to moderately complex projects, managing scope, schedule, budget, and deliverables.
• Coordinate electrical design efforts with mechanical, plumbing, and other disciplines to ensure integrated MEP solutions.
• Develop and manage project schedules and support the timely completion of project milestones.
• Provide project-level technical direction to designers and engineers assigned to projects.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and project stakeholders on assigned projects.
• Prepare, review, and communicate technical requirements, drawings, and specifications to project team members and external partners.
• Support quality control and quality assurance processes by reviewing work for consistency, accuracy, and compliance with firm standards. Client Interaction & Business Development
• Support marketing and business development efforts through technical input, project pursuit support, and proposal development.
• Assist with estimating and scoping of work for potential projects.
• Maintain positive client relationships through responsive communication and high-quality project delivery.
• Introduce additional MEP services through responsive communication and support collaboration with other technical disciplines as appropriate.
Qualifications include:
• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited four-year university plus a minimum of 6 years engineering work experience; 8 to 10 years of engineering work experience is desired.
• Or, Master's degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university plus at least 5 years of engineering work experience; 7 to 9+ years of engineering work experience is desired for a candidate with a Master’s degree.
• Professional Engineer license in Texas • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit
Provides leadership, work assignments, evaluation, training and guidance, counseling, and recommendation for dismissal to others
• Attention to detail
• Clearly and effectively communicate with leadership staff, designers and engineers from other departments.
• Commissioning experience or familiarity with electrical system commissioning is a plus.
