Materials Supervisor
A leading company in the mattress manufacturing industry is seeking an experienced Warehouse & Materials Supervisor to oversee and ensure the smooth functioning of all warehouse, receiving, and shipping operations. This role is critical in managing material flow, inventory accuracy, and compliance with operational standards while supporting production needs. The ideal candidate will also lead personnel, coordinate team activities, and optimize warehouse space for maximum efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the fleet of mobile equipment used for material movement, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Ensure shipping and receiving schedules are met by executing planned procedures on time and in accordance with quality and safety requirements.
- Allocate resources effectively to meet established operational goals.
- Oversee inventory control procedures, monitor stock levels, and ensure proper storage conditions.
- Supervise the correct placement and organization of materials across all warehouse locations.
- Track and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to evaluate operational performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure timely and accurate material supply to production lines to support manufacturing processes.
- Prepare and distribute KPI reports to management.
- Monitor compliance with CTPAT requirements and other regulatory standards.
- Oversee attendance tracking and PTO management using the company’s HRIS system.
- Promote adherence to company policies, safety protocols, and internal work regulations among team members.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience supervising or leading materials operations in a manufacturing environment (experience in mattress or furniture manufacturing is a plus).
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems (QAD preferred).
- Forklift operation skills are desirable but not mandatory.
- Availability to work rotating shifts as needed.
- Effective leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.
- Ability to analyze data and apply analytical thinking to support operational decisions.
