Our esteemed client is currently seeking a highly qualified and experienced Senior Accountant to join their accounting function. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing accounting and regulatory support for accounting change and special matters, accounting processes and controls support, GAAP implementation, and transaction accounting and financial reporting assistance.

What You'll Do:
As a Senior Accountant, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the accounting function of our client. The responsibilities of the role include:

• Contributing to, monitoring, and advising on plan developments and changes to ensure relevancy, compliance, and optimal delivery. The Senior Accountant will work closely with the operational team to ensure that their plans are in line with the wider business strategy and reflect key priorities.
• Assisting in the preparation and implementation of the operational team plans to ensure these are in line with the wider business strategy and reflect key priorities. The Senior Accountant will determine their own work priorities and activities in line with agreed plans to ensure the achievement of the function’s objectives.
• Managing a portfolio of products and being responsible for the timeliness and quality of the work of the team. The Senior Accountant will navigate changing and complex national and international tax environments related to stringent capital requirements, management of operational tax risks, and tax implications.
• Demonstrating a good understanding of accounting concepts, staying informed of professional standards and firm policies. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for ensuring that the accounting function is compliant with US GAAP auditing standards and that the team is up-to-date with the latest accounting practices.

What You Bring:
Our client is looking for a Senior Accountant with the following qualifications:

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in the Insurance Industry. The successful candidate will have a good understanding of the insurance industry and the accounting practices that are specific to it.
• At least 5 years of experience in accounting/auditing (preferably for a P&C insurance company). The successful candidate will have extensive experience in accounting and auditing, preferably in the P&C insurance industry.
• A Certified Public Accountant qualification is preferred. The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with a CPA qualification.
• Extensive knowledge in one or more of the following: Programs, GAAP/Stat Reporting. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of accounting programs and GAAP/Stat reporting.
• A good understanding of US GAAP auditing standards. The successful candidate will be familiar with US GAAP auditing standards and will be able to ensure that the accounting function is compliant with them.
• Working experience in relation to GAAP. The successful candidate will have experience working with GAAP and will be able to provide guidance to the team on GAAP-related matters.
