Staff Accountant

Our client is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their team in Los Angeles. This role offers an exciting opportunity to prepare and maintain financial records, tracking the organization's assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities. The successful candidate will be a key player in maintaining accurate and updated Client Ledgers, reconciling balance sheets, and generating insightful reports.

What you'll do:

  • Maintain accurate and updated Client Ledgers by posting payments to their respective matters.
  • Identify and troubleshoot discrepancies between accounting records.
  • Responsible for daily bank deposits and daily reconciliation of those deposits.
  • Respond to client, attorney and staff inquiries related to accounts receivables and trust balances.
  • Prepare general ledger entries and maintain supporting records and files.
  • Generate reports on client trust accounts, Client AR, and/or Client Payments.
  • Assist Director of Finance and CFO on creation of monthly reports.
  • Maintain positive relationships with internal and external clients.

What you bring:

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is required.
  • A solid understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask and organize workflow.
  • Proactive attitude towards work efficiency and accuracy.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office with emphasis on Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience using Aderant Expert software or other legal firm financial and practice management software preferred.
