An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled and experienced Controller to manage the Accounting function of an established company. This role will provide you with the chance to utilise your expertise in Tax Management, Financial Reporting, and Payroll Management. You will play a crucial role in providing accurate financial information about the company's activities to assist management and others in making economic decisions about the company's future
What you'll do:
As a Controller, your primary responsibility will be managing the Accounting function as it records and executes financial transactions on a timely basis. You will work closely with other key stakeholders to provide timely and accurate communications. Your role will also involve working with various functions to develop budgeting strategies. Additionally, you will review Company performance against budget expectations regularly, assisting in evaluating proposed projects for their potential benefit. Your role will also require you to establish accounting systems that verify the integrity of all systems, processes, and data.
- Managing the Accounting function as it records and executes financial transactions on a timely basis.
- Working closely with the CFO to provide timely and accurate communications to lenders, investors, and interested third parties.
- Working with the Financial Planning and Analysis function to develop budgeting strategies.
- Reviewing Company performance against budget expectations regularly.
- Assisting in evaluating proposed projects for their potential benefit to the Company.
- Establishing accounting systems that verify the integrity of all systems, processes, and data.
- Directing the preparation of all financial reports.
- Assisting the CFO in evaluation and execution of capital market transactions.
- Overseeing the activities of Accounts Payable, Financial Reporting, and Cash Management.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Controller position is someone who brings a wealth of hands-on accounting managerial experience. You should have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA certification a plus). Experience within certain industries is preferred but not essential, however retail or restaurant experience with multiple locations is preferred. You should possess strong general ledger, accounts payable, payroll income tax, and banking knowledge. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required for this role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA a plus)
- 8-10+ years of hands-on accounting managerial experience (estimate)
- Restaurant/Retail experience advantageous with multiple locations across the US is highly preferred
- Strong general ledger, accounts payable, payroll income tax and banking knowledge.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
