Our client is seeking a Corporate Accountant to become an integral part of their Finance team. This role presents the chance to play a crucial role in both internal and external accounting and reporting. The successful candidate will be key in ensuring that corporate accounting records are accurate, complete, and timely. This position is fully remote with occasional travel for training and team building.

What you'll do:
As a Corporate Accountant, you will be a vital part of the Finance team. Your role will encompass a broad range of responsibilities from managing treasury functions to supporting public reporting. You will have the opportunity to implement complex tax and compensation transactions while also developing adjusting entries for public reporting purposes. Your ability to think strategically will be key in navigating competing issues and improving current processes. This role offers a unique blend of hands-on experience, strategic thinking, and professional growth.
• Ensure that corporate accounting records and reporting are accurate, complete, and timely
• Manage treasury functions including execution of foreign exchange transactions and money market investments and redemptions
• Participate in the transfer of funds for various transactions such as capital calls, distributions and intercompany funding across banking platforms
• Coordinate and prepare quarterly firmwide accruals
• Support public reporting for the firm through preparation of lead sheets, working papers, support schedules, financial statement notes, MD&A sections, and summary board liquidity reporting
• Implement complex tax and compensation transactions through the preparation and communication of the accounting steps / implications.
• Develop adjusting / consolidating entries for public reporting purposes
• Support various projects within the Corporate Finance team as well as ad hoc tasks as required


What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Corporate Accountant role brings a wealth of experience in financial reporting / accounting. With your university degree in accounting, finance or business coupled with your CPA designation (preferred), you are well-equipped to handle the full accounting cycle. Your strong business acumen allows you to think strategically about competing issues while continuously striving to improve current processes. Your high level of professionalism is matched by your strong interpersonal skills, making you a valuable addition to the team.
• University degree in accounting, finance, or business
• Professional Accounting Designation (CPA) is preferred
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience related to financial reporting / accounting, including full accounting cycle; preparing financial statements; analyzing income statement accounts; explaining and documenting variances
• Audit and / or tax experience preferred
• Strong business acumen with the desire, ability, and curiosity to think strategically to navigate competing issues and improve current processes
• High level of professionalism along with strong interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
