Tax Associate

We are partnering exclusively with a highly regarded, ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) family office to identify a qualified Tax Associate. This is a unique opportunity that offers exposure to complex tax matters across a wide range of domestic and international entities. As part of a high-performing in-house tax team, the Tax Associate will support the Tax Directors in the preparation, planning, and oversight of all tax-related functions for the family and affiliated entities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the income tax compliance process for all U.S. federal, state, local, and international filings
  • Coordinate with external tax service providers and monitor tax calendar deadlines to ensure timely filing
  • Assist in gathering data and preparing documentation for a range of tax returns, including:
    • Individual (1040, 1040-NR), Partnership (1065), C-Corp (1120), S-Corp (1120S), Trust (1041), Gift (709)
  • Provide support for foreign disclosures and filings (8858, 8865, 8621, 5471, 5472, 3520)
  • Maintain books and financial records for foreign-owned U.S. entities
  • Assist with tax projections, planning strategies, and ongoing compliance matters
  • Track and record all tax payments and ensure accuracy in budgeted cash flows
  • Review general ledgers for accuracy of tax-related transactions
  • Conduct research on prospective transactions, charitable strategies, and complex tax scenarios
  • Support responses to IRS/state notices and audit-related documentation
  • Assist with the drafting of technical memos as needed
  • Remain current on relevant tax laws, regulations, and industry practices

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; MST or CPA strongly preferred
  • 3–5+ years of relevant experience in tax/accounting, preferably with HNW clients in a public accounting firm or family office
  • Exposure to international tax issues is a plus
  • Strong foundation in U.S. tax compliance and technical tax concepts
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with QuickBooks is preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities independently
  • Professional, discreet, and team-oriented with a strong work ethic
