Accounting Associate

Our client is seeking a proficient Associate in Accounting to become part of an energetic Finance and Operations team. This role provides the platform to engage with a diverse range of sectors, including Private Equity, Venture Capital, Credit, Public Equities, and Distressed Assets in Latin America. The successful candidate will play an integral role in bolstering the financial reporting process, contributing to various projects and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Key Responsibilities:
As an Associate in Accounting, your role will be central to ensuring the efficient operation of the finance department. Your daily tasks will involve preparing journal entries and reconciliations, assisting with financial statements, and supporting cash management activities. You'll also be responsible for preparing and reviewing fund management fees and other calculations. Collaborating with auditors to complete annual audits will be another key aspect of your role. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to review legal documents to assess fund accounting considerations and work closely with various teams across the organization.

  • Prepare daily journal entries, general ledger (G/L) reconciliations, and cash reconciliations.
  • Assist with the preparation and review of quarterly and annual financial statements.
  • Support cash management activities, including the capital call and distribution processes.
  • Prepare and review fund management fees, partner allocations, waterfall, and carried interest calculations.
  • Collaborate with auditors to complete annual audits by GAAP.
  • Review legal documents to assess fund accounting considerations.
  • Work closely with various teams across the organization.


Key Requirements:
The ideal Associate in Accounting will bring a wealth of finance and operations experience from within private equity or venture capital. You'll have a solid understanding of financial statements and tax structures related to private equity funds. Your ability to read and interpret complex financial and legal documents will be essential. A high level of proficiency in administrative platforms such as eFront or Investran is expected. Advanced Microsoft Office skills are required, particularly Excel. Above all else, you'll have a high attention to detail coupled with a strong work ethic.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA certification and/or a master’s degree is preferred.

  • 3-5 years of finance and operations experience in private equity, venture capital, or other alternative fund structures.
  • Strong partnership and/or accounting knowledge
  • Proficiency in administrative platforms such as eFront or Investran.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, with strong expertise in Excel.
  • High attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
  • Solid understanding of financial statements and tax structures related to private equity funds.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex financial and legal documents.
