Key Responsibilities:
In the capacity of Internal Auditor, you will assume a central role in upholding the integrity of the organization’s financial operations. Your daily activities will encompass conducting thorough audits across multiple departments, appraising policies designed for asset safeguarding, supervising independent record examinations, formulating enhanced procedures in response to audit outcomes, undertaking risk analyses, preparing detailed reports for senior management consideration, supporting external auditors during regulatory inspections, attending industry seminars for ongoing education, investigating irregularities when warranted, managing concurrent projects within designated timeframes, planning audit scopes by evaluating risk factors judiciously, providing guidance and practical instruction to audit staff according to their competencies, fostering constructive relationships with departmental management through transparent dialogue regarding business priorities and potential challenges, assessing risk management monitoring techniques across all categories of risk events within the institution, and remaining abreast of regulatory developments affecting organizational operations.
- Conduct comprehensive audits of financial records and controls to ensure strict compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Maintain an extensive internal audit program encompassing regular procedures for branches and operational departments throughout the organization.
- Review and evaluate existing policies and procedures dedicated to asset protection, offering recommendations for improvement where appropriate.
- Supervise independent audits and examinations of records to confirm conformity with regulatory requirements and organizational standards.
- Advise on the development of new or revised procedures and controls based on findings from routine audit assessments.
- Formulate updated internal audit policies, methodologies, and procedures that reflect prevailing best practices within the industry.
- Undertake detailed risk assessments across all departments, identifying areas requiring attention and proposing effective remedial measures.
- Prepare and present written reports of audit reviews to management and the Audit Committee, clearly articulating findings, underlying causes, material impacts, significant deficiencies, recommendations, and overall evaluations.
- Assist external auditors and regulatory examiners during their reviews as necessary, facilitating efficient communication and information exchange.
- Participate in seminars and meetings on pertinent topics to remain informed about evolving risks, regulatory changes, and industry expectations.

- An undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a closely related discipline is required for this appointment.
- A minimum of four to seven years’ diversified experience in bank auditing encompassing financial, operational, and compliance functions is essential.
- Demonstrated proficiency in both written and verbal communication with a proactive approach that ensures clarity in issue reporting.
- A proven history of conducting exhaustive audits within banking environments whilst adhering rigorously to regulatory standards.
- Experience in devising new or amended internal audit policies consistent with sector best practices is highly desirable.
- Advanced analytical skills are required to execute detailed risk assessments across various organizational departments.
- Competence in preparing lucid written reports that delineate audit findings, including identification of root causes and recommendations for enhancement.
- Capacity for managing multiple assignments concurrently whilst ensuring optimal utilization of resources within the audit team based on individual strengths.
