A rapidly growing Beauty / Wellness CPG Startup, using plant-based materials, is looking for a Controller to join their accounting team in LA. Based in LA, the Controller will lead their Accounting team and be responsible for the management of all aspects of cashflow, oversight of financial statements, driving process improvements and efficiencies, and establishing and adhering to internal financial control frameworks.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all core Accounting operations, including areas such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash Management, Financial Reporting and Balance Sheet Management
• Ensure the accuracy of financial statements by ensuring compliance with US GAAP standards, building out a strong internal financial control framework
• Work closely with the FP&A team and key stakeholders across the business
• Lead, coach, and mentor the Accounting team, providing them with support, and feedback and finding opportunities for them to develop their skillset
• Manage all cash and cash equivalent balances, ensuring sufficient funds are available for business cash requirements
• Ownership of all key relationships related to cash management, including banking, corporate credit cards, payment providers, and credit card processors

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA qualification highly desirable
• A minimum of 7 years of Accounting experience with a proven deep level of understanding of accounting operations, US GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting
• Comfortable working with a variety of Account & ERP systems, experience of using NetSuite a plus
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels
• Ability to work and excel within a fast-paced, dynamic, and constantly changing work environment
• Ability to develop peer, cross-functional, and cross-business relationships to maximize best practice sharing
