Our esteemed client is currently seeking a highly qualified Senior Manager of Asset Management for their Real Estate portfolio in New York, NY. The successful candidate will be responsible for formulating and executing asset management strategies and business plans for a portion of the company's US Student Living portfolio and Multi-Family portfolio.
What You'll Do: As the Senior Manager of Asset Management, the selected candidate will:
Actively manage a portfolio of assets while building a reputation of credibility and thought leadership within the team. They will be responsible for developing and executing asset management strategies and business plans for a portion of the company's US real assets portfolio, currently valued at roughly US$2B.
Manage relationships with fee managers, leasing brokers and other vendors. They will be responsible for negotiating contracts, including property management agreements and retail leases, and ensuring that all parties are meeting their obligations.
Monitor and analyze asset and portfolio level P&L statements. They will be responsible for tracking the financial performance of their portfolio and identifying areas for improvement.
Work constructively with other internal silos including Portfolio Management, Facilities Management, Group Development Management and Legal to accomplish their portfolio goals. They will collaborate with other teams within the company to ensure that their portfolio is meeting its objectives.
What You Bring: The ideal candidate will possess:
A Bachelor’s degree in economics, real estate, accounting, architecture or related field, MBA or CFA desired. They will have a strong educational background that has prepared them for a career in real estate asset management.
Minimum of 10 years of asset management and operations experience with either conventional multi-family or purpose-built student living, additionally retail asset management or leasing experience preferred. They will have a proven track record of success in real estate asset management, with experience managing either conventional multi-family or purpose-built student living assets.
Strong knowledge of present value, NPV, IRR and DCF concepts and calculations as well as strong financial modeling ability. They will have a deep understanding of financial concepts and be able to apply them to real estate asset management.
