VP, Leveraged Finance Credit Officer

Our client is seeking a Vice President, Leveraged Finance Credit Officer to be part of a dynamic environment where you will support the review and credit approval of leveraged finance transactions. You will have the chance to lead financial modelling, valuation, and legal term reviews while ensuring that exposures are consistent with the bank's risk appetite. What you'll do:
As a Vice President, Leveraged Finance Credit Officer, your role will be pivotal in supporting the review and credit approval of leveraged finance transactions. Your excellent financial modelling skills will be utilized in performing due diligence, leading valuation processes, and preparing detailed credit recommendations. You will ensure that all documentation aligns with the bank's policies while managing diverse internal projects. Your strong interpersonal skills will enable you to build relationships with front office colleagues while mentoring junior staff. Your ability to communicate effectively will be key in conveying credit views to senior management.
• Support the review and credit approval of leveraged finance transactions including LBOs, mergers and acquisitions financings, hold commitments and other requests
• Perform due diligence, lead financial modelling, valuation, and legal term reviews
• Prepare detailed credit recommendations for approval with relevant approvers and present at credit committees when necessary
• Ensure that credit approval documentation is consistent with the Bank’s policies and applicable regulations
• Manage the hold book in conjunction with the Industry Head, credit monitoring team and front office
• Assist in interactions with auditors and regulators and support related reporting requirements
• Manage diverse internal projects
• Build relationships with the front office colleagues, providing constructive feedback
• Communicate credit views to senior management and help mentor and manage junior staff
• Lead responses and discussions related to audit and regulatory inquiries


What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the Vice President, Leveraged Finance Credit Officer role will bring a wealth of experience from an Investment Banking/Capital Markets environment. Your strong credit risk analysis skills and knowledge of financial modelling/forecasting will be essential in this role. You will have a deep understanding of investment and commercial banking products, coupled with advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Your ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under time pressure will be key to your success in this role. Strong communication skills are also crucial as you will be required to explain complex transaction structures to relevant stakeholders.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics from an accredited college or university
• 6-10 years’ professional experience in an Investment Banking/Capital Markets environment
• Strong credit risk analysis skills (leveraged finance experience is a plus) as well as knowledge of financial modeling/forecasting and valuation methodologies
• Knowledge of investment and commercial banking products such as: RCF, Term Loans, Bridge Financings, Derivatives (Swaps, Foreign Exchange), Cash Management, Trade Finance products
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under time pressure
• Understanding of leveraged finance markets, loan documentation and regulatory standards
• Strong communication skills
