Associate Principal, Core Credit

Our client is searching for a highly skilled and experienced Associate Principal for the Core Credit team. This role presents an exciting opportunity to protect the firm from elevated credit or operational risks and manage risk profiles of various counterparties. The successful candidate will possess a robust understanding of the risks present within the clearing industry and/or participating financial entities.

What you'll do:
As an Associate Principal in Core Credit, your primary role will be to protect the firm from potential risks introduced by clearing members, banks, and other critical counterparties. You will monitor their ongoing creditworthiness, ensuring compliance with Firm rules and other regulatory requirements. Your analytical skills will be put to use as you independently analyze financial statements to identify key metrics and trends. You will also manage applications of new counterparties, documenting results for presentation to senior management. Your role will extend beyond these responsibilities as you will also participate in or lead procedure-related control testing activities.
• Monitor ongoing creditworthiness of counterparties and ensure compliance with Firm rules and regulatory requirements
• Independently analyze financial statements to identify key metrics and trends
• Manage applications of new counterparties and document results for presentation to senior management
• Work closely with department management on projects, cross-department collaboration, and mentoring colleagues
• Support system, data, and risk methodology development
• Develop advanced data analytics and reporting to support executive decision-making
• Participate in or lead procedure-related control testing activities


What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the Associate Principal, Core Credit position brings a wealth of experience in risk management within the financial services industry. Your robust analytical and problem-solving skills will be crucial in identifying, measuring, monitoring, managing, and reporting various risks. You possess proficient knowledge of SEC/CFTC regulatory rules and regulations. Your understanding of securities markets, derivatives, and option trading strategies will be essential in this role. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail are required along with strong verbal and written communication skills.
