The Manager HR & Compliance Consulting provides expert HR consulting services to complex and/or multi-state clients in various industries. With particular emphasis on hotline consulting, document preparation, training curriculum preparation, and remote client services. Responsible for delivering the client contract, resulting in an outstanding experience.
What you’ll do:
The role has responsibility for HR policy management, development, and improvement for clients.
This role will directly or indirectly manage staff to ensure proper contract deliverable execution.
Providing support to clients on HR matters, including wage and hour, leave of absence, worker’s compensation, compliance with state and federal leave laws, and employee relations matters
Interprets client contracts, manages billable work with the responsibility of tracking and reporting time, and identifies supplemental services and opportunities for additional billable work. Collaborates with the internal team on preparing proposals for additional services for existing or new client relationships
Manages pre-hire process inclusive of background checks and manages on-boarding
Prepares offer letters and coordinates employment agreements for clients
Manages contentious employee relations matters, conducting investigations as appropriate
Effectively and sensitively manages employee termination processes
Serve as contact for clients and clients’ employees to answer questions regarding, among other things, policy, benefits, and payroll compliance
Effectively manages critical relationships with client representatives, including employees, management, and vendors, to ensure client retention
Develops, prepares, and conducts training content for original and updated webinars
Responsible for tracking applicants consistent with EEO and AAP requirements
Creates and updates job descriptions, including FLSA classification determination
Performs compensation analysis in accordance with the CA Fair Pay Act
Responsible for performance management implementation and process maintenance for various clients using HRIS platforms or other established processes
Administers and advises on Health and Welfare plans and retirement plans, including enrolments and terminations. Plays a key role in the annual open enrolment process
Manages components of leaves of absence including but not limited to: adhering to client-specific policies, tracking, coordination with payroll and insurance carriers, coordination of paid time off benefits, and administration of appropriate documentation
Manages multi-state payrolls and HRIS components within multiple human capital management platforms
Qualifications:
Extensive professional HR experience, with a focus on employment-related compliance
Operational payroll experience
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal/written skills and presentation skills
Advanced working knowledge of state and federal regulations i.e. COBRA, ERISA, FMLA, PDL, PFL, CFRA, ADA, ACA
Certifications related to HR (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP or equivalent)
Certifications related to Payroll or Benefits preferred (FPC, CPP, CEBS)
Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, or equivalent combination of education and experience
