Vice President, Credit Risk Officer - FIs

Our client is one of the Bulge Brackets. They are currently seeking an experienced Vice President, Credit Risk Officer, to join their team in New York with a specific FI counterparty coverage..

What you'll do:
As a Vice President, Credit Risk Officer, you will play a crucial role in managing the credit risk within the North America Financial Institutions. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include maintaining the integrity of the credit risk function, conducting due diligence, writing credit papers for new clients, and taking appropriate action to mitigate credit risk. Additional details below:
• Maintain integrity of credit risk function whilst ensuring full support for Front Office relationship and sales staff.
• Conduct due diligence and write credit papers for new clients, annual reviews.
• Provide hands-on support to the team when sector or client specific difficulties are identified to mitigate credit risk.
• Action on requests from stakeholders across the bank.
• Change in limits and counterparty credit rating following Credit approval.
• Approve utilization of sanctioned limits within discretion and resolve credit risk limit excesses.
• Monitor compliance with credit terms in trading/legal documents and resolve/escalate breaches.

What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Vice President, Credit Risk Officer role will bring a wealth of experience in Financial Institutions credit risk management. Knowledge of ISDA and other relevant master agreement documentation and credit terms is essential. A Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) is required for this role.

• 5+ years of experience in Financial Institutions credit risk management (if you also have worked with muni's and insurance groups that would be great)
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
• Strong product knowledge across derivative and financing products.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
