Our esteemed client is currently seeking a highly qualified and experienced Loan Review Officer (VP- or director-level) to join their esteemed New York Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough assessments of credit risk, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, evaluating risk management effectiveness, and adhering to regulatory guidance and industry best practices.

What You'll Do:
As a Loan Review Officer, the successful candidate will:

• Perform systematic reviews of credit portfolios to assess credit and loan performance, as well as the adequacy of documentation.
• Analyze the quality of credit risk analysis performed by participants to the credit approval process.
• Prepare Credit Assessment and Review reports, along with Loan Review reports.
• Stay updated on industry developments in assigned sectors and actively contribute to continuous monitoring activities.
• Evaluate the current risk status of reviewed credits and validate recommended credit ratings.
• Propose and drive improvements to underwriting, portfolio management, and the credit approval process.

What You Bring:
The ideal candidate will possess:

• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
• A minimum of nine years of credit-related experience, preferably in large regional, Corporate & Investment Banks, or International Banks.
• Strong communication skills, allowing effective interactions with Front Office, Credit Risk professionals, and regulators. Prior regulatory experience is a plus.
• A good understanding of loan documentation fundamentals.
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of accounting principles is preferred.
