Risk Governance Lead - Data & AI

Our client is seeking a proficient and experienced Lead for Risk Governance in the Investments and Capital Markets division. This role is crucial in supporting enterprise risk programs within the rapidly advancing fields of Data and Artificial Intelligence. This role presents an exhilarating opportunity to play a key role in steering divisional objectives for governance of data and implementing secure and efficient use of Artificial Intelligence technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Lead for Risk Governance, you will play a significant role in shaping the future of our client's initiatives in Data and Artificial Intelligence. You will collaborate across teams to drive strategies on risk management, ensuring the secure and efficient use of Artificial Intelligence technologies within the firm. Your work will involve engaging with multiple partners across all divisions, conducting comprehensive risk assessments, developing guidance on AI governance, promoting ethical AI practices, advising on practices for data management, monitoring compliance, and assisting in developing enterprise training. Your proactive skills in building relationships will be crucial in this role.

• Engage with multiple partners across all divisions and risk domains
• Collaborate with legal, technical, and business teams to communicate risk findings
• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments of divisional data management and AI projects
• Develop and maintain guidance on AI governance
• Promote transparency, fairness, and accountability in AI practices
• Advise practices on data management and address security risks specific to AI
• Monitor for adherence to policies and standards on data and AI
• Assist in developing enterprise training to raise awareness of risks in data management and AI

Key requirements:
The ideal candidate for the role of Lead for Risk Governance brings a wealth of experience in managing operational risk, particularly within technology risk, information risk, or model risk management. With your strong knowledge of standard methodologies in Data Management and technologies such as machine learning or natural language processing in Artificial Intelligence, you will be well-equipped to navigate the complexities of this role. Your familiarity with relevant regulations like GDPR or CCPA along with industry guidelines like IEEE Ethically Aligned Design or NIST will be invaluable. Your excellent communication skills, adaptability, and interpersonal skills will enable you to build strong relationships across the enterprise.

• 8+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
• 6+ years of experience in operational risk management including exposure to technology risk, information risk and/or model risk management
• 2-5 years of management and leadership experience
• Strong knowledge of standard methodologies in Data Management and technologies in Artificial Intelligence (e.g. machine learning, natural language processing)
• Familiarity with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and industry guidelines (e.g., IEEE Ethically Aligned Design, NIST)
• Excellent communication skills and collaborative skills
• Skills in analyzing risk based on data
• Adaptability and interpersonal skills
