Our esteemed client, a leading agency for economic development, international trade and investment, and tourism in Western Australia, is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Development Manager to join their Americas Hub team in Austin, Texas. The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the achievement of outcomes and delivery of international productive foreign direct investment and trade promotion specifically aligned to Western Australian Government and industry’s strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

As the Business Development Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Developing and implementing a relevant Americas Strategy and Business Plan for the Americas.
• Maintaining extensive, effective, and collaborative working relationships and networks representing Invest & Trade Western Australia companies, government agencies, and relevant business communities of the USA and in Western Australia.
• Responding to qualified requests for information and engagement from clients in the priority sectors and other sectors as relevant.
• Identifying trade and investment opportunities in the Americas and providing support for Western Australia’s businesses to engage with impact.
• Assisting and coordinating inbound official visits, trade mission programs, and major business seminars/exhibitions that will win business, promote investment, and showcase Western Australian products and services.
• Undertaking industry and market analysis by means of research to identify potential value addition, trade, and investment opportunities for Western Australia and develops insight content accordingly.

Key Requirements:

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and skills:

• Proven experience in network and business development or international trade and market development across the USA.
• Experience conducting research and analysis across political, economic, commercial, and industrial areas and producing analysis and insights.
• Ability to build productive and trusted relationships with key industry and business stakeholders, government, and networks.
• Strong verbal and written English language skills.
• Strong commercial acumen.
• Strong knowledge, experience, and networks in the United States of America in at least one of the following priority sectors: Energy Transition, including critical and battery minerals and renewables, Advanced Technology and Innovation, Health and Medical Life Sciences, Defence, and/or Space.
