Key Responsibilities:

As a Business Development Director, you will focus on generating new ground‑freight business by identifying high‑potential prospects through data sources such as market intelligence and CRM analytics. You’ll conduct detailed discovery sessions with shippers to understand their needs and present tailored LTL solutions. Close collaboration with pricing, operations, and legal teams will enable you to develop proposals that balance commercial goals with operational realities. You’ll build strong relationships through empathetic engagement and represent the company at industry events. Maintaining accurate Salesforce pipeline records and executing a disciplined sales process will be essential to meeting revenue targets.

  • Identify high‑value target customers using data insights to position the company as a reliable logistics partner.
  • Conduct discovery sessions to understand shipper profiles, requirements, and challenges to create tailored solutions.
  • Present a range of LTL services—including standard, expedited, volume, cross‑border, and accessorial‑heavy options—to prospects.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop competitive, operationally aligned proposals and negotiate pricing and contract terms.
  • Maintain strong relationships, monitor market trends, represent the company at industry events, and manage CRM pipeline activities to achieve new‑logo revenue goals.

Key Requirements:

You bring strong expertise in winning new ground‑freight business, especially in LTL, including both standard and white‑glove services. Your knowledge spans domestic transportation solutions such as FTL, dedicated routes, final‑mile delivery, and even pool‑point or domestic freight forwarding. You excel at interpreting market intelligence to identify growth opportunities and at building trust quickly with supply chain and procurement leaders. Your entrepreneurial mindset, CRM proficiency, and disciplined time‑management support consistent execution and accurate pipeline management. Your bachelor’s degree—and any advanced certifications—further strengthen your professional profile.

  • Seven+ years of new‑business acquisition experience in U.S. ground‑freight logistics, especially LTL including white‑glove services.
  • Proven success securing new‑logo customers through data‑driven targeting and consultative selling.
  • Strong knowledge of LTL, FTL, dedicated routes, final‑mile delivery, and domestic freight forwarding.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, analytical skills, and expertise with CRM tools such as Salesforce.
  • Results‑driven, entrepreneurial, disciplined in complex environments, with a bachelor’s degree and optional advanced certifications.
