Our client is seeking a highly experienced Technical Support Engineer with a focus on the optical industry. This role offers an opportunity for career advancement, with potential for growth into leadership within the technical support department. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing technical support projects from inception through completion, ensuring that all projects meet the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Technical Support Engineer in the optical industry, you will play a crucial role in overseeing various projects from start to finish. Your excellent project management skills will be put to use as you coordinate project timelines, budgets, and resources. You will also be responsible for performing rigorous QA/QC reviews of all engineering work under your supervision. Your strong leadership skills will shine as you guide junior engineers through the design and production process. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to prepare and present technical fee proposals for new projects.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all assigned projects.
  • Oversee the design and production of technical documents, ensuring accuracy, compliance with codes, and quality.
  • Coordinate project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure timely delivery of projects.
  • Perform rigorous quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) reviews of all engineering work and documentation under your supervision.
  • Lead and direct junior engineers in the design and production process, providing guidance and mentorship.
  • Prepare and present technical fee proposals for new projects.

Key Requirements:

The ideal candidate for this Technical Support Engineer role brings a wealth of experience in the field. With 8 to 12 years of experience in technical support engineering, you have proven your ability to manage multiple projects and teams effectively. Your strong knowledge of building codes and standards will be invaluable in this role. Your expertise in structural analysis and design software such as Revit, RAM Structural System, RISA etc., will be put to good use as you oversee the production of technical documents.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 8 to 12 years of experience in technical support engineering.
  • Proven experience in managing multiple projects and teams.
  • Strong experience in overseeing the production of technical documents and performing QA/QC reviews.
  • Expertise in structural analysis and design software (e.g., Revit, RAM Structural System, RISA, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of building codes and standards (e.g., AISC, ACI, IBC, etc.).
