Our client is seeking a Graduate Structural Engineer to join their team in Austin, Texas. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing entry-level engineering analysis, design, BIM model/document preparation, and construction observation for small to medium projects. This requires the application of professional engineering concepts, principles, practices, and methods sufficient to perform a broad range of engineering activities in a variety of materials and projects.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Graduate Structural Engineer, you will play an integral role in our client's team. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve preparing BIM models, assisting in the design and analysis of structural components for various projects, and coordinating with other engineering disciplines. You will also contribute to the continuous improvement of our design processes and standards. This role provides an excellent opportunity for you to apply your academic knowledge in a practical setting while gaining valuable industry experience.

  • Prepare and maintain BIM (Revit) models, design drawings, diagrams, and charts under the supervision of a professional engineer.
  • Assist in the design and analysis of structural components for various projects.
  • Utilize structural engineering software to perform calculations and model structures.
  • Prepare and review technical drawings, reports, and specifications.
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and architects to ensure integrated project delivery.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our design processes and standards.
  • Assist in answering RFI’s and other questions from the Contractor during construction.
  • Maintain accurate filing and records system for projects from initiation to project close out.

Key Requirements:

The ideal candidate for this Graduate Structural Engineer position is someone who has recently completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited four-year university. You should have proficiency in Revit and demonstrate strong attention to detail. Your ability to communicate effectively with corporate managers, end users, and engineers from other departments will be crucial for success in this role.
