Founding Engineer (Back End)

Our client is revolutionising the food and beverage industry by transforming how manufacturers manage their food safety programs. They are seeking a Founding Engineer with a passion for coding and an interest in their technology stack. This role offers the opportunity to work remotely, contributing to critical activities that ensure compliance with regulatory standards, provide real-time insights, and utilise AI to identify potential risks.

What you'll do:

As a Founding Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing digital tools that transform the way food safety programs are managed. You will be responsible for developing large-scale AI systems, designing schemas for MySQL databases, and creating APIs using FastAPI. Your expertise in Python libraries such as SQLAlchemy and Alembic will be crucial for data migration tasks. You will also serve Python web applications using Gunicorn and Nginx while managing code versions on GitHub. Your contributions will directly impact the real-time insights provided by our client's platform.

• Develop large-scale, reliable, and interpretable AI systems
• Design schemas and write SQL queries for MySQL databases
• Develop APIs using FastAPI and validate data using Pydantic
• Work with Python libraries like SQLAlchemy and Alembic for data migration
• Serve Python web applications using Gunicorn and Nginx
• Manage code versions and collaborate on projects using GitHub

What you bring:

As the ideal candidate for the Founding Engineer position, you bring a degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience. Your knowledge of or interest in our technology stack including AI, Python, AWS, MySQL, GitHub sets you apart. You have a deep love for coding and consider unit and integration testing as core parts of your personal development process. With an iterative mindset, you move fast and love to ship product.
