With a $115,000 salary, it’s ideal for those passionate about impactful data engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will design and maintain scalable data pipelines, architectures, and ETL/ELT workflows that support critical Department of Defense analytics. You’ll ensure data reliability through rigorous quality checks, optimize database performance across cloud and on‑premise environments, and collaborate closely with data scientists and engineers on advanced analytics initiatives. Additionally, you will document systems thoroughly and contribute to cloud‑based modernization efforts while upholding strict federal security standards.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures that support analytics, reporting, and DoD operational systems.
- Build ETL/ELT processes to integrate structured and unstructured data while ensuring accuracy and adherence to federal requirements.
- Implement rigorous data quality checks, validation, and monitoring to maintain reliable, compliant datasets.
- Optimize database performance in both cloud and on‑premise environments and troubleshoot complex integration issues.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, document all data systems thoroughly, and support cloud modernization efforts.
Key Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you need extensive experience designing solutions for complex data challenges and strong proficiency with SQL and ETL/ELT tools like Apache Airflow or Informatica. You should be skilled in programming languages such as Python or Java and comfortable working with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, as well as big data technologies like Spark or Hadoop. A solid understanding of data modeling, warehousing, and federal governance standards—along with the ability to collaborate effectively in remote, mission‑critical environments—is essential.
- Active Top Secret Clearance is required due to the sensitive nature of Department of Defense work.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field—or equivalent experience—demonstrating strong technical expertise.
- 8+ years of experience building and managing large‑scale data engineering solutions and pipelines.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL, ETL/ELT tools (Airflow, Informatica, Talend), and programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop), and strong knowledge of data modeling, warehousing, and federal compliance standards.
