Business Development Manager
Our client, the Government of Western Australia, is seeking a highly skilled Business Development Manager to join their team in Austin, Texas. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team that leads initiatives for significant investment in large and complex projects in Western Australia, supports a network of international offices to promote Western Australia and its industries, and encourages strategic investment and trade opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Business Development Manager, your role will be pivotal in driving growth by identifying new business opportunities. You will provide expert market analysis and strategic advice, helping clients navigate their way into new markets. Your ability to develop and implement complex investment attraction strategies will be crucial in promoting Western Australia as an attractive location for foreign direct investment. You will initiate, plan and manage programs that generate interest in the investment potential for Western Australian businesses within the Americas. Your participation in events will help promote the State's interests in targeted sectors. Leveraging your extensive network, you will facilitate business relationships between Western Australia and agencies from the Americas region.
- Provide expert market analysis and strategic advice on go-to-market pathways
- Develop and deliver complex investment attraction strategies to promote Western Australia as a location for foreign direct investment
- Initiate, plan and manage programs to generate interest in the investment potential for Western Australian businesses in the Americas
- Develop and participate in events to promote the State’s interests in targeted sectors
- Maintain extensive, effective working relationships representing Invest & Trade Western Australia companies
- Utilize networks to facilitate business relationships between Western Australia and agencies from the Americas region
Key Requirements:
The ideal candidate for this Business Development Manager role brings considerable experience or understanding of investment activities in priority industry sectors. You have strong professional networks across one or more priority sectors such as energy, mining & METs, defense industries etc. Your ability to build relationships with key industry stakeholders is second to none. You possess project management and budgeting skills that enable you to effectively manage resources. Your strong verbal and written English language skills allow you to communicate effectively with diverse audiences. Lastly, your strong commercial acumen enables you to identify profitable opportunities.
- Considerable experience or understanding of investment activities in priority industry sectors
