VP, Credit Officer for Asset-Backed Securities/CLO
Our client is seeking a Vice President Credit Officer with expertise in Asset Backed Securities and Collateralized Loan Obligations to join a distinguished US Credit Risk Management team. Key Responsibilities:
In the capacity of Vice President, Credit Officer Asset Backed Securities and Collateralized Loan Obligations, you will assume a central role in safeguarding the organization's interests by managing the credit risk associated with intricate securitization financing activities. Your daily remit will encompass reviewing new transactions for approval, structuring deals alongside business partners to ensure prudent risk mitigation is embedded from inception, as well as conducting detailed analyses of collateral pools. Remaining attuned to evolving market conditions that may influence asset performance is essential; you will prepare insightful reports for senior management whilst also participating in strategic initiatives such as portfolio monitoring or stress testing. - Support the review and credit approval process for Collateralized Loan Obligation warehouse facilities secured by middle market and broadly syndicated corporate loans, ensuring exposures remain consistent with the organization's risk appetite.
- Collaborate with First Line of Defense colleagues to structure transactions that incorporate robust risk mitigation strategies tailored to address potential adverse scenarios.
- Conduct a thorough analysis of underlying collateral quality by evaluating credit ratings, counterparty strength, industry trends, and macroeconomic factors impacting asset performance.
- Monitor market developments that could affect securitized assets’ performance, proactively identifying emerging risks and recommending appropriate mitigation measures.
- Prepare comprehensive credit memoranda for transaction approvals, presenting findings at relevant credit committees as required.
- Participate in broader projects such as portfolio monitoring, stress testing exercises, and responding to regulatory or audit requests to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Foster strong relationships with internal partners by constructively challenging assumptions while providing insightful feedback throughout the transaction lifecycle.
- Communicate clear credit views to senior management through well-structured written reports and verbal presentations.
- Mentor and support junior staff members by sharing technical knowledge and best practices in credit risk assessment.
