This esteemed position affords you the privilege of overseeing credit risk for sophisticated securitization financing activities, with particular emphasis on lender finance business encompassing middle market, broadly syndicated, and venture loan portfolios.

Key Responsibilities:
In the capacity of Vice President, Credit Officer Asset Backed Securities and Collateralized Loan Obligations, you will assume a central role in safeguarding the organization's interests by managing the credit risk associated with intricate securitization financing activities. Your daily remit will encompass reviewing new transactions for approval, structuring deals alongside business partners to ensure prudent risk mitigation is embedded from inception, as well as conducting detailed analyses of collateral pools. Remaining attuned to evolving market conditions that may influence asset performance is essential; you will prepare insightful reports for senior management whilst also participating in strategic initiatives such as portfolio monitoring or stress testing. Your ability to communicate nuanced credit perspectives clearly will prove invaluable when presenting at committee meetings or responding to regulatory queries. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to mentor junior colleagues—imparting your expertise in structured finance—and contribute meaningfully to a culture of continuous improvement within the team.

  • Support the review and credit approval process for Collateralized Loan Obligation warehouse facilities secured by middle market and broadly syndicated corporate loans, ensuring exposures remain consistent with the organization's risk appetite.
  • Collaborate with First Line of Defense colleagues to structure transactions that incorporate robust risk mitigation strategies tailored to address potential adverse scenarios.
  • Conduct a thorough analysis of underlying collateral quality by evaluating credit ratings, counterparty strength, industry trends, and macroeconomic factors impacting asset performance.
  • Monitor market developments that could affect securitized assets’ performance, proactively identifying emerging risks and recommending appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Prepare comprehensive credit memoranda for transaction approvals, presenting findings at relevant credit committees as required.
  • Participate in broader projects such as portfolio monitoring, stress testing exercises, and responding to regulatory or audit requests to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal partners by constructively challenging assumptions while providing insightful feedback throughout the transaction lifecycle.
  • Communicate clear credit views to senior management through well-structured written reports and verbal presentations.
  • Mentor and support junior staff members by sharing technical knowledge and best practices in credit risk assessment.
  • Lead discussions related to audit inquiries or regulatory reviews, ensuring accurate representation of the team’s processes and controls.

Key Requirements:
To excel as Vice President, Credit Officer Asset Backed Securities and Collateralized Loan Obligations, you will possess a robust academic foundation in finance or related disciplines coupled with substantive experience managing credit risk within structured finance environments. Your background should reflect direct involvement with CLOs or analogous products backed by middle-market or broadly syndicated loans. You will exhibit advanced analytical capabilities—enabling you to dissect intricate deal structures—and possess the communication skills requisite for articulating your insights persuasively both in writing and verbally. Familiarity with rating agency criteria, cash flow modelling techniques, and corporate credit analysis will empower you to make judicious assessments regarding transaction quality. As a dependable collaborator who thrives under pressure yet remains attentive to detail, you are committed to supporting colleagues’ development whilst upholding rigorous standards of compliance. Your capacity for building trust-based relationships internally ensures constructive dialogue throughout each stage of the deal process.

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline is required for this appointment.
  • Demonstrable experience in credit risk management with specific exposure to Collateralized Loan Obligation structures, financing middle-market or broadly syndicated loans, is indispensable.
  • Proven analytical skills accompanied by meticulous attention to detail are essential for evaluating complex transaction structures and communicating findings effectively.
  • The ability to assess cash flow models utilized in structuring transactions is important for success in this role.
  • Experience operating independently under time constraints, whilst maintaining exemplary standards of accuracy, is highly regarded.
  • Familiarity with securitization structures, rating agency methodologies, and corporate credit analysis—particularly involving high yield companies—is expected.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary to present information clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
  • A collaborative approach combined with interpersonal sensitivity enables effective teamwork across departments.
  • Experience mentoring or supporting junior staff members is advantageous for fostering knowledge transfer within the team.
