About the Director of Strategic Transactions & Technical Accounting
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead technical accounting assessments and prepare accounting memoranda supporting acquisitions, financing transactions, entity restructurings and other complex strategic initiatives.
- Partner with Finance, Legal, Investments, Operations and executive leadership on the accounting implications of investments, financings and other significant transactions.
- Serve as the firm's subject matter expert on U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements and technical accounting guidance.
- Oversee the preparation and review of SEC filings, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, financial statement footnotes, MD&A and related disclosures.
- Support SOX 404 compliance, internal controls, accounting policies and disclosure controls.
- Act as the primary liaison with external auditors on technical accounting and SEC reporting matters.
- Monitor new accounting standards and SEC regulations, leading implementation efforts where appropriate.
- Drive continuous improvement across financial reporting, accounting processes, internal controls and reporting automation.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline; CPA required.
- Currently operating at Senior Manager level within a Big Four Accounting Advisory, Deals, CMAAS, FAAS, AAS or Transaction Services practice, or possess equivalent technical accounting experience.
- Extensive experience researching complex accounting matters and preparing technical accounting memoranda supporting acquisitions, financings and other strategic transactions.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements and SOX 404 compliance.
- Proven ability to engage, influence and build credibility with senior stakeholders across Finance, Legal, Operations and external auditors.
- Excellent analytical, communication, project management and technical writing skills.
