Strategic Tax Business Partner (Remote)

A high-growth FinTech company is seeking a Strategic Tax Business Partner to join its expanding US team. In this highly visible role, you will partner with government agencies to deliver innovative solutions at the intersection of tax enforcement, data analytics, and emerging technology. This fully remote position can be based anywhere within the Eastern or Central time zones and includes periodic travel.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with tax authorities and government stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, translating complex tax, compliance, and operational challenges into practical, outcome-driven solutions.
  • Lead client engagements from initial proof of concept through implementation, ensuring successful delivery against defined objectives.
  • Partner closely with internal product, technology, data, and commercial teams to help shape future solution development.
  • Identify opportunities to expand client partnerships by demonstrating measurable value and business impact.
  • Manage project timelines, stakeholder expectations, and potential risks to ensure long-term client success.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on tax enforcement, audit methodologies, and regulatory requirements.


Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related discipline.
  • 10-15 years of tax enforcement experience within a government agency, regulatory body, or similar environment, or specialized tax consulting experience within a leading professional services firm.
  • Demonstrated track record leading complex audits, investigations, compliance reviews, or enforcement initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of state and federal tax regulations and multi-jurisdictional tax environments.
  • Proven ability to engage, influence, and build credibility with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with an interest in technology and data-driven decision making.
  • Experience within Sales & Use Tax, Corporate Income Tax, Nexus investigations, financial crime, or related areas is highly desirable.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and evolving environment.
  • Willingness to travel domestically as required.
