VP, Rates Valuation Risk

Key Responsibilities:
As Vice President, Rates Valuation Risk, you will oversee Independent Price Verification across a wide range of interest rate products. You will work closely with trading teams to identify valuation risks and support new business activity. The role involves advising senior leadership on valuation matters and serving as the main contact for auditors and regulators. You will also collaborate with global teams to improve valuation processes through advanced methods and automation. In addition, you will mentor junior colleagues while maintaining strong communication and high risk-management standards.
- Lead Independent Price Verification for rates products, including complex derivatives.
- Partner with trading teams to manage valuation risks and support new business.
- Advise senior management and act as the key contact for auditors and regulators.
- Work with global teams to improve valuation processes, controls, and automation.
- Mentor junior staff while supporting compliance and a strong risk culture.
Key Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you need strong experience in valuation risk within markets or investment banking. A solid academic background, ideally with qualifications such as CFA or FRM, should support deep knowledge of rates derivatives and fixed income products. You should have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to assess valuation methodologies effectively. The role also requires excellent communication and relationship-building skills to work across teams and with regulators. A commitment to mentoring others, continuous improvement, and ethical conduct is essential.
- Strong academic background in a quantitative, finance, or business-related field; CFA or FRM preferred.
- Extensive experience in valuation risk, product control, or front-office roles within markets or investment banking.
- Deep knowledge of fixed income products and rates derivatives, including complex instruments.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills across cross-functional teams.
- Proven ability to lead process improvements, mentor junior staff, and uphold high ethical standards.
