Chief Technology Officer

Save job

A Beverly Hills investment firm seeks a CTO to transform how the organization operates. You will treat the firm as your product, driving enterprise-wide efficiency through modern productivity systems and AI. The role offers real autonomy, significant resources, and close partnership with senior leadership, including the CEO. You’ll build what should exist (not maintain status quo) and ship visible improvements fast. Join a supportive, high-performing team and collaborate in person.

Key Responsibilities:

As Chief Technology Officer based in Beverly Hills, you will own the firm’s end-to-end technology stack—from identity, devices, collaboration tools, and conferencing to security, vendors, and AI tooling. Partnering closely with senior leadership, you will diagnose bottlenecks and design pragmatic solutions that materially improve how teams work. You will build and deploy bespoke internal tools and AI agents (e.g., automations, dashboards, and assistants) that support investment, LP relations, and operations. You will prioritize rapid iteration and visible shipping of minimum viable products, continually evaluating emerging technologies and retiring tools that don’t deliver. You will maintain high security and reliability standards while ensuring a seamless user experience across the organization.

  • Act as the primary owner for all IT and engineering functions across the firm, from day-to-day operations to long-term architecture and roadmap, with AI enablement as a core pillar.
  • Lead AI adoption and integration across teams: map current tools and processes, identify high-impact pain points, and design AI-powered solutions that materially improve speed, quality, and decision-making.
  • Run structured proof-of-concept cycles for AI and automation tools (e.g., copilots, workflow automations, knowledge assistants): evaluate vendors, pilot with small groups, gather feedback, and decide what to scale.
  • Own the change management around new AI tools: communicate the “why,” train users, define usage guidelines, and ensure adoption sticks rather than remaining a one-off experiment.
  • Take full ownership of technology infrastructure end-to-end: identity/access, devices, collaboration stack (Gmail, Notion, Slack), CRM (Attio), conferencing, security, networking, and core SaaS systems.
  • Build and run a disciplined IT asset management program, including hardware and software inventory, lifecycle management, and refresh planning for a high-value, security-conscious environment.
  • Own document retention, knowledge management, and data governance across tools like Notion, email, and file storage, ensuring information is easy to find, secure, and policy-compliant.
  • Lead vendor and contract management for all technology and IT service providers: selection, negotiation, performance management, renewals, consolidation, and especially evaluation of AI-capable platforms.
  • Transition the firm from a heavily outsourced IT model to a proactive, internally driven environment, deciding what to insource, what to keep with vendors, and how to get the best value from partners.
  • Design and implement pragmatic security controls and policies suitable for a regulated, financial-services-adjacent environment, with a particular focus on data security and governance around AI tools.
  • Provide hands-on technical support and troubleshooting for a demanding, executive-heavy user base, while steadily reducing “fire drills” through better systems, automation, and documentation.
  • Over time, build and/or oversee a small internal team and contractor network as needs grow, while continuing to stay close to the technology and architecture.

Key Requirements:

To thrive as Chief Technology Officer here, you must be highly adaptable and effective in fast-changing, high-expectation environments. Experience as an early engineer, founder, or similarly scrappy operator matters most if it demonstrates a consistent ability to spot leverage points and drive improvements. You bring strong curiosity about applied AI and hands-on experience building or integrating AI tools into real workflows. You communicate clearly across the organization—from junior staff to the C-suite—so teams understand both the “why” and the measurable benefits of each initiative. You collaborate closely with others and maintain a continuous-learning mindset to stay ahead of change and deliver thoughtful innovation.

  • 2–6+ years in high-performance, early-stage, or forward-deployed environments (startup/early engineer/founder/consulting/banking with substantial technical work).
  • Hands-on fluency with modern AI tooling (e.g., Claude, Cursor) and strong judgment about where it helps—and where it doesn’t.
  • Able to code and ship: scripting, API integrations, advanced prompting, and delivering small tools end-to-end (build → deploy).
  • Operator mindset: quickly find friction, take ownership, and deliver MVP-first solutions with continuous iteration.
  • Clear communicator and collaborative partner, comfortable working in-person; can balance security/usability and manage vendors to maximize technology ROI.
