ASIC Engineer
Application-Specific Integrated Circuit Engineer Onsite | San Jose, California | Base salary: $160,000 to $190,000, plus bonus and benefits A leading technology company is hiring an Application-Specific Integrated Circuit Engineer to develop mixed-signal chips for video surveillance, imaging, automotive safety, and advanced driver-assistance systems.
This is an onsite opportunity in San Jose for an engineer who wants broad technical ownership and direct involvement in hardware development from concept through high-volume production. You will work closely with ASIC, FPGA, PCB, firmware, validation, lab, and systems engineers to develop production-ready video IC solutions used in demanding real-world environments.
The role is based onsite because success depends on rapid iteration across evaluation boards, FPGA integration, lab debugging, signal-integrity analysis, design reviews, and hardware bring-up. Candidates based outside the Bay Area who are prepared to independently relocate to San Jose for the right long-term opportunity are encouraged to apply.
For engineers considering a move to the Bay Area, the role offers broad technical ownership, direct exposure to the full IC development lifecycle, regular collaboration with customers and partners, and a long-term platform to deepen expertise in high-performance video and imaging technologies.
Key Requirements
- Three or more years of hands-on experience supporting mixed-signal ASIC, video-processing, imaging, embedded-hardware, or semiconductor product development.
- Experience creating evaluation-board schematics, supporting PCB layout and bring-up, and troubleshooting hardware in a lab environment.
- Experience integrating or working closely with FPGA firmware in prototype, validation, or product-development environments.
- Working knowledge of MIPI, HDMI, video interfaces, display interfaces, image-sensor interfaces, audio protocols, or related high-speed serial interfaces.
- Experience with signal integrity, power integrity, EMI mitigation, hardware debug, and lab-based system validation.
- Exposure to commercial CMOS video ICs, high-volume production, silicon validation, product launch, or manufacturing-support activities.
- Clear technical documentation skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across ASIC, FPGA, firmware, PCB, validation, systems, customer, and partner teams.
- Willingness to work onsite in San Jose, California, where close collaboration with hardware and lab teams is central to the role.
- Candidates outside the Bay Area should be prepared to independently relocate to San Jose for this long-term onsite opportunity.
