Principle Systems Architect
A technology leader is seeking a Principal Systems Architect to shape secure, scalable enterprise server and cloud data center solutions. You will define architectures integrating silicon, board-level hardware, firmware, and software, translating customer requirements into technical specifications.
Working with engineering teams, you will guide micro-architecture for high-security, AI-driven System-on-Chips and next-generation platform infrastructure. You will engage with strategic customers, standards committees, and ecosystem partners to influence global platform solutions. The organization offers flexible work, knowledge sharing, and a supportive, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
As Principal Systems Architect, you will shape enterprise server platforms and define specifications for hardware and software integration. You will gather clients’ security requirements and communicate architectural strategy to industry stakeholders. You will guide engineering teams through board-level design and secure firmware partitioning, ensuring integration from silicon to system software. Your expertise in signal integrity and power delivery optimization will support high-volume production. Success requires technical mastery of silicon design, embedded firmware, and board-level troubleshooting, alongside clear communication with diverse audiences.
- Define system specifications, hardware/software boundaries, and register-level interfaces; direct secure SoC micro-architecture, interconnects, memory hierarchies, and PCIe, Ethernet, SPI, eSPI, I3C, and LTPI interfaces.
- Gather enterprise customer requirements for next-generation platform security and present architectural roadmaps and whitepapers to strategic customers, partners, and standards committees.
- Design enterprise server, baseboard management, and cloud data center solutions, advising engineers on signal integrity, power delivery, thermal constraints, and modular integration.
- Specify secure boot, Root-of-Trust, and Platform Firmware Resiliency frameworks; collaborate on OpenBMC, Linux kernel, device driver, MCTP, PLDM, and Redfish interfaces.
- Enable rapid redesigns through footprint compatibility and alternative sourcing within supply chain constraints, maintain production-grade documentation, and troubleshoot field RMA issues.
Key Requirements:
You bring extensive hardware engineering experience and a proven track record in server or semiconductor ecosystems. Your background includes delivering complex board designs into high-volume production and resolving field issues. You combine circuit design expertise with practical skills in schematic capture tools and laboratory equipment. Your embedded firmware knowledge supports software collaboration, while familiarity with open-source standards ensures alignment with industry’s best practices. Strong interpersonal skills enable you to communicate architectural strategy and hardware-anchored security concepts to enterprise stakeholders, with participation in open infrastructure communities further strengthening your profile.
- Over 15 years of server or data center systems architecture experience spanning SoC design, board development, and software integration, with the ability to independently produce production-grade technical specifications.
- Strong SoC design-flow knowledge, including PCIe, Ethernet, DRAM, and USB; practical Cadence OrCAD/Allegro skills; and experience taking complex boards into high-volume production and resolving field RMAs using oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
- Embedded firmware expertise in RTOS, Linux device drivers, and low-level C/C++, plus familiarity with OpenBMC, MCTP/NVMe-MI/LTPI interfaces, modern CPU/GPU architectures, and Python or Bash scripting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for engaging enterprise clients and technical stakeholders; participation in open infrastructure communities such as OCP is highly desirable.
- Preferred expertise in hardware security, including cryptographic accelerators, HSMs/TPMs, and side-channel attack mitigations.
